Employee Training Video #1 - Documentation of worn carpet

It is very important to inform the customer if the carpet is in bad shape and should be replaced.  If the customer insists on you cleaning it, you must document everything you see and even take pictures.  Always have the customer sign the invoice where you have documented any issues.  This also applies to cleaning tile.  Document any cracked or  missing grout or tile and have the customer sign the invoice.  On the carpet in the video below; I informed the customer and had her sign the invoice before I cleaned it.  It turns out that the carpet cleaned up well.  The red stains can out with our cleaner, and most of the stains came out.  The customer was very happy, but this could have had a different result if the customer was not informed.  You will also note that there are ripples in the carpet.  Any areas that are rippled or torn must be documented on the invoice so that they will not think that this was done by the cleaning.

Employee Training Video #2 - Filtration Lines In Carpet

Filtration lines are areas in the carpet where dust and dirt can come up through openings such as tear marks, seams, or areas along the wall.  Filtration lines are very expensive and difficult to remove.  They will get lighter with cleaning, but they will still be visible.  We do have a chemical to treat filtration lines, but it is not cost effective for large areas.  Filtration lines should be documented on the invoice and the customer should sign the invoice.  In the video below you can see where a power stretcher tore areas of the carpet when it was being stretched.  Filtration lines were noted in these areas.

Employee Training Video #3 - Drop Cloth Protection and Corner Guards

It is very important when you enter a home or business that you spend time to set up and prep the areas.  This includes placing corner guards on any corners that the hoses will come in contact with and placing drop cloths on hardwoods, tile, or rugs.

Employee Training Video #4 - Cleaning Old Berber Carpet

With the proper chemicals and using steam  at 225 degrees and above at the tip of the wand; you can sanitize the carpet and remove the dingy film which is left behind with some carpet cleaning systems.  Our Majestic Vanish and spotter will remove this film and leave the carpet looking much brighter.

We put the  Majestic Vanish cleaner in a hydra-force sprayer to apply to  carpet, rugs, or tile before using the wand.  We use the wand to remove the cleaner with high force vacuum and steam.  This promotes a quicker drying time.  This method has proved to be our most effective way of cleaning carpet.

The video below was carpet that was cleaned by a previous van system two weeks prior.

Employee Training Video #5 - Rugs and Furniture NOT TO CLEAN

If you have a house with special fabrics, such as silk which is noted in this video, it is very important that you protect this fabric so that it does not get wet.  Unless you have specific training in cleaning silk, DO NOT CLEAN IT!  Be sure and prep the other areas of the home to be cleaned and pull up bed skirts and drapes so they do not touch the carpet or rugs being cleaned.  This also applies to special hand knotted rugs.  The best thing you can ever do is walk away from textiles that  you are not familiar with.

Be sure and give customers a thank you gift of our jam.  They always want refills so they call for their next appointment.

Our Majestic Spotter is also a great way to gain customer confidence.  Our bags with the 20% off coupon for their next visit or the cans with a spotter and cleaning cloth is a great thank you.

Also please use our pens,  pencils, business cards, business card magnets, door handle coupons, and 20% off coupons.  This keeps our name and logo in front of our customers and potential new customers.

Always put the door handle coupons on every house cleaned.  This will remind them to call us for their next carpet cleaning.  Also, always leave a 20% off coupon on the counter so they can give it to a friend or use it on their next carpet cleaning.
